Pumpkin Festival this October half term

Join us for our fun Pumpkin Festival this October half term and meet the animal keepers

meerkats

Free Pumpkin workshops and fun Halloween activities will be taking place during our Pumpkin Festival this October half term (Saturday 25th October until Sunday 2nd November).

From meerkats to giraffes, lots of animals love to eat pumpkins. Children are invited to bring their pumpkins and meet the animal keepers to find out why they are great food and provide great stimulation for the animals. As our animals come in all shapes and sizes, please bring small and large pumpkins, either whole or carved, for the keepers to choose from.

There are many more spooky treats in store including Zambar the Amur tigerHalloween face painting, and goblin & ghouls colouring in and puzzles. Pumpkin inspired food will also be available in our brand new café graze.

It all starts daily at 11pm at the white marquee opposite the Tigers until 2pm, with keepers arriving to choose and feed the pumpkins from 12noon and 2pm daily. As well as a different source of food, the pumpkins are an interesting and different object that the animals explore and which also encourages natural behaviour.

As if that wasn’t enough - guess the weight of our giant pumpkin and be in with a chance to win a once in a lifetime prize to feed the giraffes!

Competition now closed - Pumpkin weight = 7 kilograms. Congratulations to Ann Louise Nicholson who correctly guessed and was randomly selected as our winner.

The Pumpkin Festival is free, standard admission charges apply for entry into the Park. Suitable for all ages. The Pumpkin Festival starts on Saturday 25th October and runs until Sunday 2nd November.

Animal Adventures in Africa story telling will also be taking place during October Half term
