If you are interested in keeper work experience please read the following carefully before contacting us
- Marwell runs an unpaid work experience keeper scheme from the beginning of February to the end of September each year for a two week placement.
- Placements are limited to students over the age of 18 years and studying a course of animal care or welfare at Sparsholt College (Winchester) or at a veterinary university.
- For Sparsholt students - applications should be made to Sparsholt College direct in the November of the year prior to the period of work experience required.
- All work experience students must fulfil the criteria above and be able to produce a letter from their tutor confirming their appropriate course in order to be considered for a placement .
Veterinary student applications
- During clinical training years students will shadow vet/vet nurse during procedures and will also be expected to participate with the smooth running of the veterinary hospital and records.
- Pre clinical training years students will be offered animal keeper/husbandry duties only.

If you are over 18 and interested in work experience in this area, please send a CV and covering letter to education@marwell.org.uk detailing the following:
- Why you would specifically like to work within the education department
- What areas you are interested in gaining experience in (we have several programmes: Foundation, KS1-3, Post-14, SEN and Public Engagement).
- If you have any specific projects that you need to complete during the placement
- What time of year you are available to work
- If you would prefer to work full time (Monday - Friday) or on a part-time basis
- How many weeks you would like your placement to be for
