Free Downloadable resources
This page contains all of the resources that we have available for KS1, KS2, KS3, SEN, Foundation, and Post 14.
These resources are free to download, and are intended to help you get the most out of your visit to Marwell. Most of the resources are designed to be used while you go around the park, plus some contain activities you can do back at school.
New for 2012 - the Olympics have come to Marwell!
This enjoyable resource invites the children to compete alongside such animal contenders as the cheetah, flamingo and kangaroo in a series of events around the park. Each event also comes with a fun fact about the winning animal’s adaptations.
As some of the events require you to take measurements, we have provided a short ruler at the bottom of the trail sheet. However, if you would prefer more accurate results please feel free to bring your own tape measure/ruler!
Please note: the animal rankings in this resource are for fun only and not based on actual records! This could be a starting point for class discussion – which animals do you think would be best?

KS1 PARK RESOURCES
Marwell Animal Bingo
To play this game, children simply have to look out for various animals around the park and tick them off the sheet as they are found. The first person to get 4 in a row (or full house) calls BINGO and wins the game! This will develop the children’s observational skills and help you make the most out of your day at Marwell Wildlife. The game is suitable for any age group.
Note: there is a blank page after each bingo card, so you can print the whole file double-sided.

KS1 Wet Weather Pack
This pack is designed to be used on a rainy day - when you may wish to stay in the dry for as long as possible and need to keep the children engaged in the same exhibit for some time.
It includes a map to show where the main undercover areas of the park are, as well as lots of fun things to look out for and do. The activities are all designed to work on a stand-alone basis, so you can dip in and out of using the pack as and when you need to. Plus there are no worksheets for the children to carry around and get all soggy!
The teacher's pack is available to download from the link below, or you can borrow a laminated version from the Information Kiosk when you arrive. Please note that there is limited availability for the laminated Wet Weather Pack so it will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

KS1 Habitats Game
This game is a fun way to get children learning about different habitats and the animals that live in them. The winner is the first player to collect all the animals hidden in their habitat game board (either rainforest, desert, Arctic or ocean).
There are 2 versions of the game available to download: one in black and white, so the children can colour in the pictures, and one in full colour. Both versions require some cutting out to make the animal game cards and so are best used at school as a pre-visit or post-visit activity.
Note: We recommend printing the animal game cards out on card so the animals don't show through to the other side.
