Extended talks this May Bank Holiday

The Zoo is offering specially created talks and events this May bank holiday weekend for children and adults alike to learn about the many animals at the park.|Rhinos

No pre booking is necessary – just turn up at the designed area - and all of the activities are completely free

Children will have the chance to learn all about some of Australia’s most bizarre animals: the lovable wallaby and charismatic kookaburra, during a daily guided tour of the brand new Australian Bush Walk. Starting at midday, the tour is suitable for children all ages, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions whilst following in the footsteps of these fascinating creatures.

Find out why an alarming 46% of animal species found on the island of Madagascar are endangered or vulnerable – taking place at 2pm daily at the World of Lemurs area of the Park, everyone can take part in ‘Madagascar Magical Myths’ and learn how we can all help save the animals from this mysterious Island. 

As well as searching out the Madagascan lemurs, children can become a Madagascan detective by taking part in a specially created children's trail. Suitable for 7 - 12 year olds the trail will take place after the Magical Myths tour.

Learn about the endangered Snow Leopards in one of the Park’s traditional Kyrgyzstan yurts. Experience how nomadic people live, listen to the story of these beautiful creatures and how they can live happily alongside people in the mountains of Asia. Suitable for 3 – 8 year olds, the talk will take place daily at 3.30pm in the Kyrgyzstan yurt at the Roof of the World exhibit.

The job of a ranger is too bserve and learn about animals in the wild.Suitable for all ages, Marwell is offering the chance to become a Rhino ranger and learn how toidentify rhino individuals whilst investigatingand observing their behaviour. Become a Rhino ranger starts at 4.00pm daily at the Rhino paddock.

With over 200 species of animals, from ferocious tigers to harmless lizards, a visit to Marwell Zoological Park this May bank holiday will make an exciting and engaging day out for children and adults alike.
