Nika Moves On

Nika, our female Amur Tiger has today (Thursday 8 February) left us for Howletts Zoo Park, Kent.
Nika was born in October 2004 to Mum, Yenna and Dad, Gamin. Nika has now reached the right age to move on and becomes a breeding female in her own right – she will now join the Amur tiger European Breeding Programme.
Amur tigers are critically endangered and fewer than 400 exist in the wild. Marwell has kept Amur tigers since 1969, Nika’s parents Yenna and Gamin remain at Marwell.
