Ice skate under the stars
Sitting in front of the beautifully lit Marwell Hall, the magical open air ice rink is perfect for both beginners and seasoned experts. With plenty of space for skaters of all experience, take to the ice and show off your skating skills or take a leisurely glide round the rink.
The spectators’ platform is a great area to watch the ice skating action and an undercover seating area is the perfect place to warm up on those winter evenings with a mulled wine or a tasty snack.
Ice skating is the perfect Christmas activity for all the family, and there’s no need for young children to miss out as special ice skates made specifically for smaller feet are also available.
Entry to the Zoological Park is required so why not make a day of it and see the animals too? Spot the Amur leopards with their beautiful fur and long thick tails. Watch the penguins splashing by the pool or see a red panda relaxing in the trees.
Special 'after dark’ tickets for evening admission (from 4.00pm) when the main zoo is closed are available. If arriving after dark you also get to travel through the Zoological Park in spectacular style abroad the Snowflake Express.
Marwell’s Magical Winter is open everyday up to and including Sunday 13th January (excluding Christmas Day). The ice rink is open till 6 January.
