JOEYS MAKING FIRST APPEARANCES

Four Bennett’s wallabies are now peeking out of their mum’s pouches for the first time. Wallabies are simply small kangaroos. The Bennett’s wallaby is the Tasmanian subspecies of the red-necked wallaby of southern and eastern AustraliaBennetts Wallaby.

These wallabies can be found in the wallaby walkthrough – part of the Australian biome centred on Encounter Village. They live happily with laughing kookaburras and Parma wallabies.

Their home climate in Tasmania is similar to that of the British Isles and small wild populations even exist in the Peak district.
