Triple success
Three Przewalski’s horse foals have been born this year!

The first arrived on 19 April. We’ve named him Doloo, meaning seven, which follows our tradition of naming our horses with Mongolian numbers. Number eight, Naim, a female, followed on 27 May and Es, a male, was born on 14 June. We’ve had foals born three years running and our herd now stands at an impressive 14.
The Przewalski’s horse is the only remaining truly wild horse in the world. While the last confirmed sighting of a Przewalski’s horse in their native Mongolia was in 1969, the species has recently been successfully reintroduced.
You can see Doloo, Naim and Es with the 2008 foals Neg (one) and Khoyer (two), and 2009 foals Gurav (three), Dorov (four), Tav (five), and Zurgaa (six) along with the adults in the horse paddock next to the children’s playground.
