Features
Animal Encounter Barn
Built with animal encounters in mind, this area enables visitors to get up close and personal with some of the reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates at Marwell. Keepers give regular talks enabling visitors to learn about these interesting animals.
Bird walk through enclosure
A fantastic enclosure where visitors can actually be ‘inside’ with the animals enabling you to get even closer to these fascinating bird species. As part of our FLIGHT fundraising appeal in 2010 you can now see a selection of birds in our new walk through aviary. As well as the little egret and the Madagascan teal, you'll meet the amazing hamerkop, famous for building the biggest bird nests in the world.
Black rat exhibit
Learn how the black rat has managed to spread across the planet, bringing with it devastation to wildlife populations around the world, at this exciting new exhibit simulating the inside of a ship.
Bush Tucker Bites
Enjoy hot and cold food including freshly made baguettes, subs, smoothies, paninis, salads and soups.
Children’s Playground
A playground is located next to Bush Tucker Bites, so that parents can relax on the picnic benches whilst the children can be playing near by.
