Join the Stampede – Marwell’s Zany Zebras

March 21, 2015

Help us to stage an extraordinary, FREE, family friendly event for 2016. We are looking for businesses and organisations to sponsor our stunning Grevy’s zebra sculptures. These large sculptures will be decorated by our talented artists, creating a fantastic piece of public street art for thousands to enjoy.

In 2013, Marwell Wildlife delivered the hugely successful Go! Rhinos event where a herd of small and large rhino sculptures stampeded through the streets and parks of Southampton in a riot of colour and vibrancy. Enjoyed by over 250,000 visitors and residents, the project ignited community spirit, showcased the city of Southampton and put smiles on hundreds of thousands of faces.

Brought to you by the same team at Marwell behind Go! Rhinos, Marwell’s Zany Zebras promises to be even bigger and better!

Schools, colleges and community groups will also be joining in the fun, adopting, designing, and realising their very own smaller zebra sculptures, whilst receiving an Outreach visit and Educational pack, as part of the Marwell’s Zany Zebras Education Programme.

In addition to this, a trail of replica miniature Marwell’s Zany Zebras sculptures will be hidden within Marwell Zoo itself.

After the event, all of the large sculptures will be sold at auction raising funds for Marwell’s conservation work with endangered Grevy’s zebras and other wildlife, and to support communities living in the arid rangelands on northern Kenya.
