The basic ingredient for any good light show is the illuminations, and this year we’re set to wow guests with more than half a million twinkling LED bulbs, a UK first and photo opportunities galore!
Our beautiful light displays include a 36 metre multicoloured light tunnel, a towering enchanted tree, 32 light up stepping stones and a very exciting UK first – glowing seesaws!
The seesaws, which glow in a variety of colours, will join last year’s moon chairs to create a playpark of gently glowing, Instagram worthy photo opportunities.
Filled with awe and wonder our Glow trail, which encompasses the front loop of the zoo, explores the theme of enchanted nature.
Comprising moving butterflies, a projected enchanted Glow Forest, lasers, lights and more snow than ever before Glow Marwell is guaranteed to add an extra special sparkle to this year’s festivities.
The displays will incorporate music to awaken the senses and add a magical, festive feel whilst Christmas food cabins will create a Christmas market vibe.
Café Graze will have festive fares to tempt those looking for a full meal and our fabulous fire pits will be back so guests can toast marshmallows and make s’mores whilst warming up
Photo opportunities will include illuminated butterfly wings, silhouette walls and rainbow road will return for those hoping to #strikeapose.
Playful teepees scattered with fairy lights, festive festoons and delightful dandelion illuminations will be complemented with glowing blooms, delicate clouds and snow galore!
On premium nights guests have the added opportunity to experience our whimsical roaming acts and, new for this year, Father Christmas will be visiting on selected dates too!
Father Christmas is only available on selected dates (see calendar when booking) and guests can turn up and pay on the day. This will be strictly first come first served and Tickets cost £10 per child (0-17) and include a gift.
For those who prefer a quieter experience, we’ve introduced Quiet Glow nights on Monday 4 December and Monday 11 December. On these nights we will be turning down the volume of the music around the event and reducing capacity.
This year, guests with Glow Marwell tickets will be able to explore the zoo between 1pm and 4pm before the lights are switched on.
Our animal houses and playgrounds will close at 3:30pm and the lights will transform the park at 4pm.
