Discover the beauty of nature through art during our next Home Education Week – Art of the Wild!
From colourful creatures to incredible landscapes, nature has inspired artists for centuries. Join us for a creative celebration of wildlife, where you’ll discover how art can help us appreciate and protect the natural world.
Whether you’re sketching, writing, listening to inspiring talks or taking part in hands-on workshops, there’s something for artists, animal lovers and curious minds of all ages.
Dates: Tuesday 21 – Friday 24 July 2026
Time: 10.20am – 3pm
Tickets: £8.95 per person, with one free adult for every paying child. Price includes a full day in the zoo (10am – 5pm), as well as access to all the activities!
What to Bring
We encourage learners to bring any art materials or creative equipment they’d like to use throughout the day. This could include sketchbooks, pencils, watercolours, colouring pencils, iPads or tablets, cameras, or any other art media to help capture inspiration from Marwell’s wildlife and landscapes. Bringing your own preferred materials may also enhance your experience during some of the creative workshops taking place throughout the day.

Lecture Theatre
Explore how art and conservation come together through a series of inspiring presentations designed for older children and adults.
With sessions running every 20 minutes, discover how creativity can help us connect with wildlife, tell powerful stories and inspire action for nature.

Little Artists Talks
Lecture Theatre Classroom
Perfect for younger learners, these interactive talks introduce children to wildlife-inspired art in a fun and engaging way.
Through creativity and conversation, young artists will discover new ways to explore the animals and habitats around them.

• 10:50am – 11:10am
• 11:20am – 11:40am
Create in the Secret Garden
Secret Garden Marquee, 1pm – 3pm
Get hands-on with a variety of creative activities inspired by the natural world.
Take part in guided workshops, enjoy nature-inspired art activities, try your hand at creative writing or simply unwind in a calm space designed for creating, exploring and connecting with nature.
Show Us Your Wild Side
Feeling inspired?
Take part in our Art of the Wild competition and create something truly wild and wonderful. Ask one of our education staff members to find out how to enter on the day for the chance to have your artwork displayed at Marwell Zoo for visitors to enjoy.

Once you’ve discovered the many ways nature inspires creativity, head out into the zoo and see what captures your imagination. From striking patterns and vibrant colours to fascinating behaviours and beautiful landscapes, there’s inspiration waiting around every corner.
