Supporter Advisor

We have an exciting opportunity for a Supporter Advisor to join our team on a permanent basis, working 21 hours per week, over 3 days.

Supporter Advisors are a key contact for our existing and new supporters; responding to enquiries, processing applications and using our supporter database. This is a customer facing role therefore excellent customer service skills are a must.

The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, be competent in the use of Microsoft Office, have excellent communication skills and be able to organise and prioritise their workload to meet agreed deadlines.

Senior HR Advisor

This role is varied and interesting, in supporting the Head of HR, you will need to demonstrate significant experience in providing professional pragmatic and timely advice on all aspects of employment relations matters including complex casework and organisational change.

Broad high level HR experience is also essential for you to deal with the entire spectrum of HR matters, including occupational health casework, policy development, designing and delivering briefing sessions to managers and staff, selection interviewing where necessary, together with a range of HR related projects.

Building excellent working relationships and maintaining credibility at all levels of the organisation is essential for this role.

The successful individual will:-

  • Be qualified to CIPD Level 7 or equivalent (or qualified by experience)
  • Be people focused
  • Be up-to-date with employment legislation
  • Be able to hit the ground running
  • Be a real team player
  • Display high levels of emotional intelligence
  • Be able to remain calm, professional and display excellent judgement when things are busy
  • Understand the purpose of Marwell Wildlife and have values aligned to theirs
  • Have a good sense of humour

Keeper Work Experience

Important information:

If you are interested in keeper work experience, please read the following carefully before contacting us.

Applications for 2022 are now closed.

Applications for 2023 should be submitted no earlier than November 2022. For further information please contact our Registrar. We do not hold applications on file.

Marwell runs an unpaid work experience keeper scheme between March and August each year, for a period of two weeks only.

Placements are limited to students 17 years of age and over and who are already studying an animal related course such as the Diploma in The Management of Zoo and Aquarium Animals (DMZAA).

For Sparsholt College & University Centre (Winchester) students – applications should be made to your tutor direct at the beginning of November of the year prior to the period of work experience required.

To be considered for a position please complete the application form, attach a copy of your CV and send to our Registrar.

We do not offer internships

All work experience students must fulfil all of the above criteria and be able to produce a letter from their tutor confirming their appropriate course and be able to attend an interview before being considered for a placement .

Veterinary student applications

COVID-19 update – Outside our planned elective schedule we are currently unable to accommodate any veterinary placements on-site due to on-going restrictions imposed by the current situation. This will be reviewed in February 2023.

We currently have limited availability for veterinary student placements, and can only provide clinical EMS. Priority is given to vet students enrolled with the University of Surrey. However, where possible, the vet team will consider 4th and final year vet students, from other Universities. Earlier years cannot be accommodated at present. Internships

We do not offer internships at this time.

We regret that we are unable to take students from school for keeper work experience.
