Staff and Helpers for Education Visits

Our free adult ratios are set low to allow groups to bring sufficient support, without adding additional costs to your trip. We do not stipulate this is how many we require you to bring, as long as you keep in with your school’s trip policy on ratios and allow appropriate supervision of your group at all times.

  • One free adult with every three students (for pupils who are 3+).
  • Free carers/helpers for all students with special educational needs (for pupils who are 3+).
  • Additional adults: These are charged at the same entry rate as the pupils.
  • Eligible for schools, colleges, pre-schools and nurseries.

Payment & Invoicing

You can book by card or by invoice.

If you’d like to pay by invoice, you’ll need to have an account set up with us. Please contact us on education@marwell.org.uk to arrange this.

When you pay by invoice, your booking will be invoiced after your visit. There is a £5 + VAT admin fee for this.

If your school uses purchase order numbers, then we require this at the time of booking. Your admin/finance department will know how to do this.

Booking Policy & Cancellations

  • All bookings for education sessions help us plan and make the most of our resources, and every penny supports Marwell’s vital conservation work.
  • If a school cancels less than two weeks before their visit, the education taught session will still be charged (though admission will not).
  • If a school group does not attend a pre-booked education session, whether they are in the zoo or not, the session will still be invoiced.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds for no-shows or individual pupils absent on the day.
  • Please note that pupil memberships cannot be used to offset the cost of school education visits.
  • Education booking terms and conditions apply.
