Did you know all our animals are on a carefully balanced diet? Marwell is one of the only UK zoos with dedicated animal nutritionists! This allows us to carefully monitor the food our animals eat and mimic natural behaviours they would demonstrate in the wild, such as ‘starve’ days and foraging for food.

If you are interested in animal nutrition, we are hosting our biennial Marwell Wildlife Nutrition Conference from 30 April to 1 May 2020. This conference is suitable for those in the field of animal nutrition, vets, landscape managers and other nutritionists or medics (just to name a few) who would like to learn more about the importance of zoo animal nutrition.
