Join us for a wild October half term, with pumpkin carving, a haybale maze and plenty of wildlife adventures!
From Saturday 25 October – Sunday 2 November 2025 , enjoy a wild autumn adventure at Marwell Zoo.
Navigate the haybale maze, test your aim with the pumpkin ring toss, get creative with pumpkin carving, and settle down for story time with our friendly witch. Plus meet Marwell’s incredible animals and their keepers.
With plenty of indoor activities, as well as boo-tiful outdoor backdrops, you’ll be entertained whatever the weather.
PLUS fuel up for your autumn zoo adventure at Café Graze, where kids eat free with every adult main meal purchased! (T&Cs apply).

Haybale Maze
Navigate the twists and turns in our haybale maze on the back lawn of Marwell Hall.
When you get snackish, just nip into the pop-up café inside Marwell Hall for tasty treats. Check out the menu.

Pumpkin Carving
Daily, 11am – 4pm
Pick your favourite pumpkin and get creative with free pumpkin carving in our picnic hut.
Or if you don’t fancy carving, you can paint a pumpkin with your favourite design instead.

Pumpkin Patch Games
Daily, 10.30am – 4pm
Pumpkins galore! Join us at the pumpkin patch in front of Marwell Hall to take part in games such as Pumpkin Tic Tac Toe, Pumpkin Ring Ross and more…

Face painting
Daily, 11am – 3pm
Fancy becoming a pumpkin or ghost? Get into character with seasonal face painting in Marwell Hall.
Additional charge applies. Suitable for ages 4+. Face painting may not be suitable for children with sensitive skin or known skin conditions – please speak to the face painters on the day. Children must be supervised.

Storytelling with Esme the Witch
Daily, 11.30am & 1.30pm
Step into Grade I listed Marwell Hall for spooky storytelling with Marwell’s friendly zoo witch, Esme.
Did you know? Marwell Hall was originally built around 1320, and is rumoured to be haunted…

Keeper Talks
Join our keepers for special talks about remarkable reptiles. You might see lizards, snakes and maybe even a ‘monster’…

Animal Myths, Facts & Fiction
Believe it or not?! Join us for talks about mythological creatures, such as unicorns, dragons and mermaids (3pm each day).
Plus get hands-on with real animal artefacts and enjoy craft activities in the Science and Learning Centre (12pm – 4pm).

Virtual Reality adventures
Daily, 10.30am – 3pm
Join young explorer, Kirra, in an immersive Virtual Reality Experience as she sets off on a quest to find the critically endangered Sunda pangolin. Get up close to wombats, koalas, orangutans and more as she journeys from Tasmania to Singapore in this 360 VR experience.
VR shows take place daily in the Giraffe House. Additional charge applies.
