More families can now enjoy rare and endangered wildlife at Marwell Zoo thanks to our new Community Access Scheme as part of our commitment to connect people with nature.

The initiative offers reduced-price tickets for people receiving Universal Credit and certain other benefits, giving more families the chance to get close to hundreds of different animals, learn about the zoo’s vital conservation work, and create memories to last a lifetime.

The scheme was announced at the 11 Million Postcards event in London today, where more than 100 charities came together to discuss and plan how to make experiences accessible to a wider audience.

Marwell’s Chief Executive Laura Read said: “We know that many people in our communities would love to visit but find prices a barrier, especially when money is tight. We want to help with that, and hope this offer allows a wider range of family budgets to visit Marwell who might not have previously been able to.”

The scheme is available to those who receive Universal Credit, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support or Jobseeker’s Allowance. Visitors must bring their Proof of Benefits letter along with them and photo ID for the person who made the booking.

Eligible visitors can book tickets for £5 per child and £10 per adult (prices valid as at September 2025). Children under three and carers are free. All tickets must be pre-booked online in advance. There is a maximum ticket limit of six people per household.

We are committed to ensuring days out are accessible to all, and for those who don’t fall under this ticket option, an annual membership is a great way to enjoy the zoo year-round – at a cost of less than three visits.
