A fearsome sabre-toothed tiger and giant woolly mammoth will come roaring into Marwell Zoo this summer.

The jaw-dropping Extinction event will bring visitors face-to-fang with lost legends and prehistoric creatures in a world-first collection of extinct animals crafted from over two million toy bricks.

Extinction will shine a spotlight on lost species including dinosaurs, an incredible six-metre-long woolly mammoth, a hissing titanoboa and a giant ground sloth.

Visiting explorers will collect a map and journey across the zoo’s 140 acres of parkland to meet more than 20 life-sized recreations of the animals that once roamed the Earth.

There will be plenty of photo opportunities, including the chance to pose with a giant dinosaur egg and dodo photo op – and visitors to Extinction Basecamp can help build a massive sabre-toothed tiger and craft their own mini mammoth or dodo to take home.

Enthusiasts will also be able to test their knowledge along the Extinction trail, with a host of fascinating facts and build stats at every turn.

Nicky Cole, Senior Events Manager, said: “We’re incredibly excited to launch Extinction at Marwell this summer, a world-first collection of spectacular toy brick sculptures.

“This immersive trail will take families on an unforgettable journey through time as they discover lost species brick by brick, from marvelling at a towering moropus to meeting a squawking terror bird, and even hearing a dire wolf’s howl with the press of a button.

“With more than 20 stunning models to discover, fun activities and surprises along the way, there’s something to amaze adventurers of all ages.

“Extinction will be on display alongside our hundreds of rare and endangered animals, making Marwell the perfect place to learn about the past, celebrate the present, and inspire everyone to protect our planet’s most precious species for the future.”

We’re offering an exclusive early-bird ticket saving of 25% off the on-the-day ticket price until May 31, and those booking early will be entered into a prize daw to win a VIP behind-the-scenes trip to the workshop, where the sculptures are being created.

Anyone booking the early bird offer before May 18 will be entered into a prize draw to win a VIP trip to Iconic Bricks headquarters on Tuesday, May 27, to see the sculptures being built, speak to the builders, and take home a goodie bag!

The event follows the roaring success of toy brick adventure BRICKOSAURS! in 2019, SUPERSIZED! in 2020 and BRICKOSAURS! Evolution in 2022.

Extinction is included with general admission to the zoo and will be on display from July 19 until September 7, 2025.
