We’re closing…

November 2, 2020

Following the Government’s announcement of a second national lockdown, we’re sad to say we’ll be temporarily closing again from 4 pm on Wednesday 4 November until the restrictions are lifted.

We are undoubtedly facing the most challenging time in our nearly 50-year history and we need you more than ever. When we are closed our daily costs remain incredibly high as the responsibility of looking after our animals and their environments to the highest standards does not change. Please continue to help us so that future generations can experience the joy of coming to our charity zoo and make a difference to conservation projects in the UK and across the world.

How can I support Marwell?

Every day the zoo is closed to guests, our need for your support grows. Please donate here to help us cover basic animal care costs such as feed and bedding. Purchasing through our Amazon Wish List is a great alternative to making a donation. This way, you can ensure your favourite animals benefit from your gift.

You can also join us as a Marwell member, adopt an amazing animal or even start your own fundraising activity. Every penny adds up and so does our gratitude, so thank you for your loyal support – Marwell simply couldn’t do what we do without you.

Information for Members

We are always very grateful for the support we receive from our members – you mean the world to us! As you won’t be able to visit, all annual memberships will be temporarily suspended from Thursday 4 November. Once we reopen the zoo, your membership will be extended accordingly. Alternatively, if you would like to donate this time to the zoo, instead of an extension, we would be extremely grateful, and it will support the ongoing care of our animals. Please see our Members Corner for the latest updates.

Information for Guests

Any guests who have registered their pre-paid tickets for a date during our closure, please get in touch with us once we reopen to reschedule your visit.

How to keep in touch with the zoo?

If you still want to see some of our amazing animals, then please check out our live webcams. Our live feeds allow you to watch our giraffes, penguins, black and white ruffed lemurs and flamingos – all from the comfort of your home!

As you cannot visit us, remember to check out our social channels (FacebookInstagram and Twitter) for daily updates and all the latest information from the zoo. We will do our utmost to bring you positive news and posts to make you smile throughout this difficult time.
