Scouting The Zoo
Scouting and Guiding groups are invited to join us for a weekend of adventure on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May 2026.
Calling all Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Squirrels, Guides, Rainbows and Brownies! Join us for Scouting the Zoo: Expedition Explorers, an adventurous weekend of fun and learning.
This action-packed weekend celebrates conservation, with exclusive activities designed to inspire and educate. Together, we’ll take you on an expedition like no other!
Exclusive Activities
Your Scouting the Zoo ticket includes*:
- Early access to the zoo from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm.
- Interactive activity hubs around the zoo, with hands-on creative fun. Prepare to get messy!
- Learn about Marwell’s conservation work with a special talk by one of our leading conservationists (twice daily)
- Have a go at animal tracking in our secret garden
- Access to the exclusive adventure catering area (cash payments accepted)
- Browse the pop-up shop, exclusively for Scouting the Zoo guests
- Complete your expedition activity card to receive your 2026 Scouting the Zoo badge.

Scouting the Zoo Tickets & Information
Bookings will go live on Monday 19th January 2026.
Tickets must be booked by Monday 4 May 2026 at midday.
Please note that there are limited tickets available for each date. Once the dates sell out, we are unable to amend any bookings or add additional guests onto pre-existing bookings.
Ticket Prices
- £22 per person
- One free adult ticket with every six paid child tickets (ages 2-15)
- Concession rates and zoo memberships do not apply.
Important Ticket Information
- Event tickets are required to participate in Scouting the Zoo activities.
- Tickets for this event are for affiliated Scouting and Guiding groups only, not for individual purchasing. We ask all guests to wear their guiding or scouting uniforms on the day to access the event.
- Any additional siblings or parents need to be booked in under your main group event booking.
- All booked guests need to remain together as a group when exploring the zoo.
- If you wish to pay by invoice, please email events@marwell.org.uk. Payment may need to be made before tickets are allocated.
- Card & cash payments:
- The pop-up shop and catering in the exclusive Scouting the Zoo area will be accepting cash payments.
- The Keeper’s Kitchen, Café Graze, retail outlets will be accepting both cash and card payments for these dates (exact money only).
- The road train will be taking cash and card payment (exact money only) – £2 per person.
- Zoo Members may visit the zoo on these dates but will not have access to Scouting the Zoo activities or event areas unless they are visiting as part of a Scouting or Guiding group and have a valid separate event ticket.

Scouting the Zoo Terms & Conditions
- Once purchased, tickets are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Bookings will close midday on Monday 4th May 2026. After this time no additions to bookings can be made.
- There are limited tickets available for each date. Once the dates sell out we are unable to amend any bookings or add additional guests onto pre-existing bookings.
- Scouting the Zoo is an event held exclusively for the Scout & Girls Guide Associations. Visits are organised, booked, and paid for entirely by individual Scouting and Guiding groups. We therefore regret that individual Marwell
memberships do not apply for this event. - All guests must have a valid pre-booked Scouting the Zoo ticket.
- Children up to and including the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- All Scouting the Zoo guests must be part of an affiliated Scouting/ Guiding group and the group name is required on booking. No individual bookings are permitted.
- Additional guests not part of the event must purchase a standard zoo ticket separately and cannot participate in additional Scouting the Zoo activities.
- All groups must attend in Scouting / Guiding uniform.
- Use of pre-booked tickets implies agreement with our park guidelines.
- Access to the zoo is from 9.30am until zoo closing time at 5pm. Last entry is 3.30pm.
- The event activity areas will be open from 10:30am – 3:30pm. You must bring your booking confirmation and show your wristbands to gain entry to these areas.
- Start and finish times must be adhered to, we regret extensions are not available.
- Guests are responsible for any damages caused to any buildings, including fixtures, fittings, décor, equipment, or damage caused within the property of Marwell Wildlife.
- Guests will be charged for the cost of replacement or repairs to any area or item damaged or lost.
- If, due to circumstances beyond our control, Marwell Wildlife becomes unavailable for the event, every effort will be made to find an alternative date. If this is not possible, a full refund will be given.
- All facilities are subject to change and may be withdrawn at any time without prior notice.
- Marwell reserves the right to close all or part of the zoo as necessary in the interest of the public and for safety reasons and request guests to leave at any time.
- Marwell will not tolerate any breach of our terms and conditions or any inappropriate or abusive behaviour towards its staff, guests or animals. Any guests behaving in this way will be denied access to, or be asked to leave the zoo immediately.
- No guest vehicles are permitted in the zoo during opening hours.
- Any personal property must be removed at the end of the event.
- All activities on the day are subject to availability and weather.
