Park Guidelines

Welcome to Marwell Zoo!

We want you to enjoy a great day at the zoo, so we’ve put together some park guidelines for information on how to have a fantastic day out while ensuring our staff and animals do too!

Please respect our animals welfare, our staff’s and your safety by observing the following code of conduct:

  • Children up to and including the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and supervised around the zoo at all times.
  • Sorry, no wheeled shoes, skate boards, bicycles, scooters or roller blades in the zoo. This is for your own safety and that of your fellow guests.
  • For the safety of our animals, we don’t allow balls, balloons, toy guns, radios, barbeques, whistles or pets in the zoo.
  • Marwell Zoo welcomes fully trained assistance dogs. Access is restricted in a few areas due to the sensitive nature of our animals. Please read our access statement for full information.
  • Please do not feed the animals. They all have a carefully balanced diet to keep them healthy.
  • Please do not cross safety barriers.
  • Please wash your hands when you enter and leave a walkthrough enclosure or have handled any animal artifacts and before eating.
  • Road train passengers must remain seated while the vehicle is moving.
  • Please do not chase any moving vehicles or sit on any of our park buggies.
  • Please place litter in the bins provided.
  • Please respect the playground equipment and the children playing on it. Take note of the age range signage in our playgrounds.
  • If you encounter a problem or need first aid assistance, please ask any member of staff or volunteer. Free emergency telephones are located at Okapi playground, Wild Explorers and Fur, Feather and Scales.
  • Smoking is prohibited in certain areas of the park. Please see our FAQ’s.

We strive to show the utmost courtesy to all of our guests. In return, please extend the same to our staff.
