We’re on the fringe of the South Downs National Park and very well connected!
It might be a stretch to say that all roads lead to Marwell but the park is within easy reach of two motorways and rail stations and only 8 miles from Winchester. If you’re looking for things to do in the Bournemouth (40 miles) or Southampton (10 miles) areas it’s the perfect choice. We’re also just a stone’s throw from the New Forest (16 miles) and Portsmouth (19 miles).
Travel by bus and we’d be delighted to reward you with a 10% discount on park entry when you show your ticket at admissions.
There is a new Sunday and Public Holiday bus route from Winchester to Marwell Zoo.
Available on Sundays and bank holiday Mondays only, the 69 bus route run by Stagecoach departs from Winchester Bus Station stand E and travels via St Cross Bell Inn, Twyford crossroads and Colden Common Spring Lane to Marwell Zoo entrance and then to Bishops Waltham Square.
Buses depart from Winchester three times per day at 0925, 1055 and 1225 and then leave Marwell Zoo at 1320, 1610 and 1740.
Return ticket prices start from £3.70 per child and £5.60 per adult, available to buy from the driver on the day.
And don’t forget bus passengers receive 10 per cent discount on admission to Marwell Zoo on production of their valid bus ticket or mobile app.
Please see the route 69 bus timetable.

Marwell zoo is pretty big (140 acres of beautiful Hampshire parkland to explore) and whilst we’d recommend that you allow at least 4-5 hours for your visit, you might like to slow the pace down even further and make a weekend of it. If that’s the case then the safari themed Marwell Hotel is located right on our doorstep.
