Four adorable meerkat pups

We’re delighted to announce the birth of four adorable meerkat pups.

Experienced Mum, Macbeth, is looking after the playful siblings and teaching them the ropes. At four weeks old the pups are beginning to spend more time outside of their den and can be seen exploring their new surroundings.

Meerkat pups spend the first few months of their lives learning how to forage and dig for their dinner. They will also learn how to stand on their hind legs for sentry duty- a skill that takes a few months to master!

Our new family of meerkats can be found outside of the main exhibit next to the zoo’s yellow mongoose house.
