Guest notice: maintenance works

June 20, 2023

Updated 26/07/2023

We’d like to thank guests for their patience whilst we carry out this essential maintenance, and if you are coming to visit an animal that’s affected by these works, it may be worth postponing your visit until they’ve been completed.

The areas currently affected are:

  • Tiger enclosure – Essential maintenance works are underway. Tigers can still be seen but only have access to half of the enclosure whilst these works are carried out.
  • Thriving Through Nature – Works are progressing well on our new Thriving Through Nature exhibit in our old tropical house building. Guests may notice works in this area, which is currently cordoned off.

At Marwell, we give our animals a choice between indoor and outdoor space.  If you can’t see them straight away, please be patient and check their indoor space if there are viewing windows or public areas indoors.

We’ve had lots of new arrivals recently, from our tiny cotton-headed tamarin babies to our new raptors, the southern caracara, and red river hog triplets. Check out the full list here (last updated May 2023).

By visiting Marwell you are supporting our wildlife conservation work around the world and enabling us to secure a better future for endangered species.
