Little bundle of joy for new world monkeys

We are delighted to announce the arrival of a tiny silvery marmoset (Mico argentatus) born to mum, Olive and dad, Arthur. The experienced parents have been caring for the little one surrounded by the rest of the group.

As the youngster grows in confidence, it will start spending more time away from mum and dad and begin learning the ropes from the rest of the group.

As the second arrival of young this year, the baby will join two older siblings who were born in May. This will come in handy for the little one as marmosets are cooperative breeders, meaning that the other marmosets in the group will help to care for the young by carrying and protecting them.
