You might remember that we had a male Roti Island snake-necked turtle in the old Tropical world, but now he’s joined by a female. The pair have a beautiful new enclosure in Cold Blooded Corner with ample space, including land and water areas for the turtles to explore. According to our Herptile team, the enclosure uses a range of technologies to offer the environmental parameters this species would experience in their natural habitat, Indonesia.
The new exhibit also allows guests to view the turtles underwater as well as from above. We can’t wait for you to see them in their new home!
The exciting news continues… Our Herptile team have come up with four name suggestions for both the 12-year-old male and the 10-year-old female turtles, and we will be asking for your help to choose the final names for the duo, keep your eyes out for more information on our Facebook page soon!
