Tickets are selling fast!

It may only be the end of July but tickets for our winter Glow Marwell event are selling fast and with so much to look forward to, you won’t want to miss out!

This year’s festive light trail will brighten up those dark, chilly winter nights with treats to delight the senses and incorporate the elements of nature.

Earth – Find out about the underground networks that connect plants and trees allowing them to exchange nutrients and thrive together.

Experience these networks in the form of chasing strip lights as illuminated fungi connect to our enchanted tree to the sounds of gently swelling music.

Water – Dive under the sea in the ocean themed area of this year’s trail and pay a visit to our fibre optic jellyfish.

Let the calm of the sea ease your busy mind and awaken a sense of wonder as the gentle lights and music wash over you.

Fire – Gather around our toasty fire pits for tasty marshmallow toasting over naked flames. If you fancy upgrading your firepit experience, S’mores kits will also be available.

Our extra long toasting sticks help keep little hands safe whilst everyone warms up at our cosy pit stop.

Air – You’ll be walking in the air in our skywalk zone, complete with clouds and mist for the ultimate atmospheric sky-high experience.

If you’ve ever wished you could fly amongst fluffy white clouds without a care in the world, this could be your chance!

Ice –Glow  Marwell wouldn’t be complete without our hugely popular snow machines.  They’re back to give our festive event an extra sprinkling of magic.

Wrap up warm, embrace the cold and capture stunning snow selfies to share with family and friends.

Thunder – Hopefully there won’t be any real thunderstorms during our event but this year Glow Marwell will have music around the whole trail including thunder in the skywalk zone.

You’ll be able to create your own beat with light up tube drums adding a new interactive element to the event for 2024. 

Force – Glow Marwell is a celebration of the force of nature from the strength of human hope, embodied by our wishing tree, through to the endurance of plants and animals.

We’ll also be welcoming back our fabulous stepping stones, which light up when you step on them reacting directly to the pressure of force.

Time – The trail is designed to be a route guests can enjoy at a leisurely pace. Take your time, explore culinary treats, make memories and enjoy exploring the zoo after dark.

Don’t forget, by buying a Glow Marwell ticket guests also get free entry to the zoo beforehand making it two events in one ticket.

Flower – Reminding us that amazing things grow from the tiniest of seeds, our beautiful illuminated blooms will be back to guide the way along our winding paths.

They may be seen as delicate but flowers are resilient and have adapted through the passage of time as a symbol of hope.

Shadow – Strike a shadow-worthy pose behind our illuminated shadow walls and don’t be afraid to get creative. From hand puppets to funny family silhouettes, the sky is the limit!

Light – There will be lights galore at Glow Marwell and this year our guests get to be part of the magic with new UV face painting.

Special areas around the zoo will be washed with UV lights to make our UV face paints pop! Great for children and adults alike – what will you choose?

Moon – Ever popular, our moon chairs are back offering guests a chance to sit and contemplate the world passing by.

The moon is essential to migration and navigation for many species, especially birds. It also controls the tides and is the main natural source of light throughout the night.
