Grevys Zebra Equus Grevyi Marwell Zoo Jason Brown Marwell Hall

Updated 23/12/2022:

Southern Water have now restored mains water to the zoo.  We are very pleased to say we are open as normal tomorrow from 10am – 4pm. Thank you for your support and understanding, we look forward to seeing you soon.

Updated 23/12/2022:

Due to the water shortages imposed by Southern water Marwell Zoo is still without mains water supply.

Our team has managed to secure water again and will be opening at 1pm, as planned, for day guests this afternoon.

In order to protect this limited supply, we are switching off ticket sales for today and would ask members to please reschedule your visit.

Likewise, we are unable to accommodate any guests who turn up at admissions without a pre-booked ticket.

We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused to those who were hoping to visit the zoo today but unfortunately the lack of water supply is out of our hands.

We would like to assure everyone that our animals continue to have access to water thanks to the emergency supply we’ve been able to secure.

Our Glow Marwell evening event will go ahead with a slight restriction in toilet facilities and the café at the gift shop will be closed.

All other catering outlets, including Café Graze, will be open as normal.

Accessible toilets will be available only at the gift shop and some of our toilet facilities at the front of the park will be out of use.

We would ask all guests to help us conserve water by using the toilet before they leave home, getting members of the same family to use the same toilet and flush once and please bring your own drinks as our bottle filling stations will be out of use.

Thank you for your support and understanding at this time. We will update again tomorrow once we know a supply is guaranteed.

Updated 22/12/2022:

Due to the water cut-offs suddenly imposed last night by Southern Water, over various parts of the region, Marwell Zoo is currently working to implement an emergency water supply.

Our team has managed to secure water, which was delivered this morning, and we are working to hook this up as quickly as possible to enable us to open to prebooked guests, both for zoo opening between 1-4pm today and for Glow Marwell tonight.

In order to protect this supply, we are switching off further ticket sales for today and would ask members to please reschedule your visit for after the Christmas & Boxing Day closure.

Likewise, we will be unable to accommodate any guests who turn up at admissions without a pre-booked ticket.

We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused to those who were hoping to visit the zoo today but unfortunately the lack of water supply is out of our hands.

We would like to assure everyone that our animals continue to have full access to water and animal welfare is not being compromised.

Our Glow Marwell evening event will go ahead, with a slight restriction in toilet facilities and the coffee shop at the gift shop will be closed.

The other planned catering outlets, including Café Graze, will be open as normal.

Limited accessible toilets will be available at the gift shop and some of our toilet facilities at the front of the park will be out of use.

We would ask all of our guests to help us conserve water by using the toilet before they leave home, getting members of the same family to use the same toilet and flush once and please bring your own drinking water, as our bottle filling stations will be out of use.

Canned and hot drinks will be available from Café Graze as normal.

We hope that members will understand that we won’t be able to service Marwell flasks for the time being.

Thank you so much for your support and understanding at this time and we will provide updates for 23 and 24 December, once we have more information from Southern Water.
