Extinction Lates

We’re sorry to announce that Extinction Lates have been cancelled.

We’re sorry for any disappointment, and hope to welcome you for a daytime visit to Extinction this summer.

Explore the zoo after-hours

Once the zoo gates close, the park transforms into a completely different world. You’ll get the rare chance to see our animals in a way most visitors never do.

Discover over 20 lost species made from toy bricks!

Marvel at the giant mammoth, pose with a giant dinosaur egg, approach a growling dire wolf, and more…

With more than 20 sculptures crafted from over 2 million toy bricks, pick up your Extinction trail map on entry to make sure you find them all.

Meet the builders!

Meet the minds behind the bricks! The team from Iconic Bricks will be here to share how they built these spectacular creations. Get your questions ready for them!

Watch out! Dodos about! (16 August only)

Despite all the odds, an unknown subspecies of the dodo has been discovered!

Much larger than their extinct cousins and able to fly (sort of), Charles and Amelia, two relics of a bygone era, are very excited to be travelling the world to see what they’ve been missing.

Keep your eyes peeled for these brightly coloured dodos and their riders as they make their way around the park. Make sure you stop for a picture with them if you visit us on Saturday 16 August.

Hear tales from our palaeontologist

Join our costumed palaeontologist to hear tales of times past, and discover more about the lost species of Extinction.

Each tale will last 15 minutes, and sessions will take place every half hour between 6.30pm – 8pm. Check the Marwell Zoo app for details.

Help build a sabre-toothed tiger

6pm – 8pm

Roll up your sleeves and join our public build in Brick Basecamp to help us create a sabre-toothed tiger.

Recommended donation £1 per block section.

Ice cream tasters!

We’re delighted to welcome Jude’s Ice Cream, who will be offering free samples from their ice cream cart. Which flavour will be your favourite?

Tasty treats at The Keeper’s Kitchen

The Keeper’s Kitchen will be serving a range of tasty food to keep you fuelled, including pizzas, jacket potatoes and sweet treats.

Explore the zoo too!

Meet our resident animals and learn how our conservation efforts are helping protect the animals you love.

On 16 August, make sure you visit our scimitar-horned oryx herd as we celebrate the very first International Scimitar-horned Oryx Day. Once Extinct in the Wild, this antelope species has been brought back from the brink of extinction by the conservation efforts of Marwell and partners around the world.

Most of our animal houses will be open until 8pm. Please note Wallaby Walkthrough, Life Among the Trees and the okapi house will be closed.
