Guest Services Assistants 

Conservation Data Analyst

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Conservation Data Analyst to join our team on a fixed term basis. The successful candidate will provide data analysis input and advice within the Conservation Biology team and assist with the production of scientific reports and papers from existing databases.

Our ideal candidate will have a PhD (or equivalent) in conservation biology or a related discipline, excellent data analysis skills and a proven track record in the development and delivery of successful, multi-disciplinary conservation and research projects.

Maintenance Plumbing & Heating Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Plumbing & Heating Engineer to join our team here at Marwell; working 40 hours per week (to include some weekends and on call) you will have overall responsibility for the operational standards, compliance and safety of the parks plumbing and heating systems. This will include carrying out preventative maintenance, testing and servicing and repair work to plumbing and heating systems across the park. 

The successful candidate will have a recognised trade qualification (Minimum City & guilds level 3 or equivalent) and be qualified to work with central heating, water heaters, pipe work and unvented hot water (Formally ACOPS 1-14). Experience in Commercial, Domestic & Industrial installation plumbing and heating maintenance and work is also essential as is the ability to assist other trades in our maintenance team when required. 

Due to the need to drive park vehicles, candidates must also hold a full driving license valid for the UK.

Catering Assistants

Are you friendly & enthusiastic? Could you wow our guests with your fabulous service? Can you work school holidays, weekends & bank holidays as well as some week days? 

We have some fabulous opportunities to join the Marwell family on annualised contracts as Catering Assistants in our Catering team. The successful candidate will help with the day to day running of our catering outlets, ensuring the highest levels of customer service at all times. Applicants must have excellent customer service and communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team. A basic food hygiene qualification would be advantageous but not essential as training will be given.

Environmental Services Assistants

Seasonal Train Driver

We have some great opportunities to join the Marwell family on casual contracts in our trains team. Due to the requirement to drive park vehicles it is essential that applicants have a full driving licence valid for the UK. 

You will need to be able to work during school holidays, weekends & bank holidays as well as week days. Casual hours contracts will involve working varied hours and shift patterns.

Environmental Services Assistants 

Are you friendly & enthusiastic? Could you WOW our guests with your fabulous guest service? 

We have some great opportunities to join the Marwell family on various contracts in our Environmental Services (cleaning and refuse) team. 

You will need to be able to work during school holidays, weekends & bank holidays as well as week days. Contracts will involve working varied hours and shift patterns each week. The hourly rate for this role is £7.83, flexible hours are available.

Work Experience

If you are interested in keeper work experience please read the following carefully before contacting us.

All work experience positions within the animal department for 2019 are now filled. Placements for 2020 will be considered in November 2019.

Applications for 2020 should be submitted no earlier than 1 November 2019.   For further information please contact our Registrar

Marwell runs an unpaid work experience keeper scheme from the beginning of March to August each year for a period of two weeks only.

Placements are limited to students over the age of 17 years and who are already studying an animal related course such as the Diploma in The Management of Zoo and Aquarium Animals (DMZAA).

For Sparsholt College (Winchester) students - applications should be made to your tutor direct at the beginning of November of the year prior to the period of work experience required.

To be considered for a position please complete the application form , attach a copy of your CV and send to our Registrar.

All work experience students must fulfil all of the above criteria and be able to produce a letter from their tutor confirming their appropriate course and be able to attend an interview before being considered for a placement .

Veterinary student applications

We currently have limited availability for veterinary student placements, and can only provide clinical EMS. Priority is given to vet students enrolled with the University of Surrey. However, where possible, the vet team will consider 4th and final year vet students, from other Universities. Earlier years cannot be accommodated at present. We do not offer internships at this time.
